CEO UPDATE: Celebrating Growth and Achievements
Dear Community Members,
As spring approaches, I’m thrilled to share some key highlights. Firstly, a big THANK YOU to our donors, especially those who supported and attended our recent Murder and Mystery gala. Your generosity fuels our mission and shapes the future of our community.
Our program continues to thrive with your support, serving 298 students across grades 6 to 12. This year, we have welcomed 83 new students, nearing our goal of empowering 100 new scholars. Additionally, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones, including the awarding of 1000 scholarships since 1996, boasting a 99% high school graduation rate, and currently supporting 315 scholars enrolled in post-secondary education.
To our 244 volunteer mentors, another big THANK YOU for your dedication. We’re actively recruiting mentors from diverse backgrounds to provide invaluable support to our students. Your guidance transforms lives.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting opportunity coming up—the Giving Challenge! Taking place between Noon April 9th and Noon on the 10th, every donation of up to $100 made through the Giving Challenge website will be matched. This effectively doubles the impact of your contribution and what’s more, the total dollar amount raised will then be doubled through the Florida Prepaid Program. With your support, we can reach even more students, provide essential resources, and create lasting change in our community. Mark your calendars and join us in making a difference during the Giving Challenge!
How You Can Help:
- To begin, consider becoming a MENTOR. Just 30 minutes a week during the school year, whether virtually or in person, can yield profound results. Click here to apply!
- Alternatively, making a DONATION is another impactful way to contribute. Every dollar donated for scholarships is generously matched by the Florida Prepaid Foundation, effectively doubling the impact of your contribution and spreading hope even further. Make a donation here!
Can we count on your support?
Thank you for being part of our journey toward a brighter future for our students and community!
Warm regards,
Anne LeBaron CEO, Take Stock in Children – Manatee
Empowering Futures: The Impact of Generosity on Take Stock Scholars
As the annual Giving Challenge approaches, Cassidee’s journey stands as a testament to the transformative impact of community support. Despite facing obstacles in post-secondary education, including financial aid challenges, Cassidee’s resilience and determination remain unwavering. She embodies the spirit of Take Stock Manatee scholars, who persevere in pursuit of their dreams with the support of generous donors. As we prepare to rally behind these remarkable individuals during the Giving Challenge, let Cassidee’s story inspire us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students like her.
Embracing Diversity: Strengthening Mentorship for Student Success
Diversity in mentorship is crucial as we aim to provide well-rounded support for all students. With 298 students currently enrolled and 83 new scholars welcomed this year, there’s still a significant number of students awaiting mentorship. Every student deserves access to a mentor who can offer guidance, support, and inspiration tailored to their individual needs. By adding more mentors to our program, we not only bridge this gap in mentorship but also enrich the learning experiences of our students with diverse perspectives and insights. As we strive to empower every child to reach their full potential, your involvement as a mentor is invaluable in shaping the future leaders of our community. Join us in making a difference in the lives of these students and fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.
