November Mentor Q & A
So, you have started your mentoring journey. Congratulations!
You probably expected the first meeting or two to be a little awkward, and they definitely were. You both are new to this, so of course, there is bound to be a learning curve. However, after a few more sessions have passed the connection still hasn’t blossomed into what may have been advertised. Especially when mentoring young people ages 11-18. They are the next generation and, like our own, think differently than those before and after.
Take Stock Manatee recognizes this and looks to help with our November Mentor Q & A. In this workshop/panel, you will hear feedback on what students grades 6-12 should be aware of, arming you with the knowledge to help them succeed while asking relevant questions. You will also hear from seasoned mentors, giving you tips and tricks for handling difficulties with students. This session was recorded with a live virtual audience, with additional commentary available from mentors of varying experiences.
The big question we all ask ourselves at some point is “how do I know if I’m making a difference?” We try our best to answer this question and more in the video below. Check out previous workshops on our mentor page such as the September Q & A and be sure to watch your emails for our next session!
