Under general supervision, performs a variety of customer service duties requiring thorough knowledge of all applicable procedures and policies.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Answering a large volume of phone calls promptly and efficiently and documenting all phone conversations in the notepad system.  This guarantees that all departments have access to current information.
  • Obtain information over the telephone or from written correspondence in order to complete, process and distribute the Notice of Injury.
  • Responsible for obtaining additional claim/injury information to complete one of the three point contact.
  • Must be able to handle calls from various states, funds, and clients.  All having diversified needs and requirements.
  • Responds to requests for provider information using a variety of source material. 
  • Schedule medical appointments for initial treatment as well as fax all required documentation to providers.
  • Document note pad with all important information needed to assist the adjusters with their ability to handle the notice.
  • Responsible for assisting in the printing and mailing out daily notice of injures as specified for state and office requirement.
  • May be responsible for clerical duties associated with First Call requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Claims or some nursing background a plus.
  • Type 35 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Bilingual Spanish 
  • Personal computer and mainframe computer skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Exceptional telephone skills and manners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be highly organized.
