Description
Under general supervision, performs a variety of customer service duties requiring thorough knowledge of all applicable procedures and policies.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Answering a large volume of phone calls promptly and efficiently and documenting all phone conversations in the notepad system. This guarantees that all departments have access to current information.
- Obtain information over the telephone or from written correspondence in order to complete, process and distribute the Notice of Injury.
- Responsible for obtaining additional claim/injury information to complete one of the three point contact.
- Must be able to handle calls from various states, funds, and clients. All having diversified needs and requirements.
- Responds to requests for provider information using a variety of source material.
- Schedule medical appointments for initial treatment as well as fax all required documentation to providers.
- Document note pad with all important information needed to assist the adjusters with their ability to handle the notice.
- Responsible for assisting in the printing and mailing out daily notice of injures as specified for state and office requirement.
- May be responsible for clerical duties associated with First Call requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Claims or some nursing background a plus.
- Type 35 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Bilingual Spanish
- Personal computer and mainframe computer skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Exceptional telephone skills and manners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly organized.
