Graduation and Bright Futures Requirements 2021-2022

Welcome to another exciting school year! With the session beginning, we want all of our scholars to be as prepared as possible to take on the any challenge the next semester brings. Of course, we are here to help all of our Take Stock family with any questions or concerns that may arise. Your College Success Coach’s role is to make sure that you are doing all that you need to be doing to achieve your college goals, along with the roadmaps to keep them on track throughout the year. Graduation Reqs

These are your required credits for graduation according to the Florida Department of Education:

What are the diploma options?
Students must successfully complete one of the
following diploma options:

• 24-credit standard diploma
• 18-credit Academically Challenging Curriculum to
Enhance Learning (ACCEL)
• Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway
• Advanced International Certificate of Education
(AICE) curriculum
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma curriculum
What are the state assessment requirements?
Students must pass the following statewide
assessments:
• Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) or a
concordant score
• Algebra 1 end of course (EOC) or a comparative
score
Refer to Graduation Requirements for Florida’s
Statewide Assessments for concordant and
comparative scores.
Students enrolled in the following courses must
participate in the corresponding EOC assessment,
which constitutes 30 percent of the final course grade+:
• Algebra 1 • Geometry
• Biology 1 • U.S. History
+Special note: Thirty percent not applicable if not
enrolled in the course but passed the EOC (credit
acceleration program [CAP]).

Bright Futures Reqs

Bright Futures is an important tool that helps our scholars achieve their college goals by providing additional financial support. The requirements include maintaining a great GPA, test scores (SAT or ACT), and volunteer hours.  Please see the link to download the specific details of what is needed. There are two (2) levels that you can achieve:

– Florida Academic Scholarship- 100%

-Florida Medallion Scholarship- 75%

Initial Eligibility Requirements: (As determined by the Department of Education)

 1. Submit the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) no later than August 31 after high school graduation, 2. Complete the 16 college-preparatory courses required for admission to a state university, 3. Achieve the required weighted GPA in the 16 college-preparatory courses per chart below, 4. Complete the required number of service hours per chart below, and 5. Achieve the required composite ACT® or combined SAT® score per chart below
